The team at Crown Group is incredibly proud to announce that Waterfall by Crown Group has won the prestigious Lord Mayor’s Award at the 2021 NSW Architecture Awards! Hosted by the Australian Institute of Architects, this year included 299 entries across 13 categories and with a leading theme emerging – that of sustainable design addressing climate change and the use of public space.

Developed in conjunction with SJB, Waterfall by Crown Group features a striking biophilic design that incorporates elements of nature, so it’s not surprise that this property received the Prize for its contribution to the public domain.

Waterfall by Crown Group

Incorporating nature into every element

The $400 million Waterfall development is located at the intersection of O’Dea and Joynton Avenue and the future Rope Walk in Green Square, and is comprised of 331 apartments built across three residential towers that are eight storeys high. This is enhanced by a 22-storey sculptural tower that overlooks a mindblowing setting of tranquil watergardens and tropical botany. A veritable rainforest in the heart of the city, Waterfall by Crown Group is truly a lush oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of modern living.

Perhaps the most compelling highlight, however, is the 22-metre man-made waterfall. The first of its kind in a residential community in Australia, this eye catching monument is nestled amongst lush gardens and lagoon pools, and beneath a bamboo canopy. The goal of the space is to open up the buildings, let in the landscape, and transform a former industrial area into one that can support large mature trees over time.

Unparalleled amenities for luxury living

In the words of development designer Adam Haddow, “This is a residential project that aims to connect you with landscape – through courtyards, open corridors, and roof gardens. At the centre, the billabong is a cool place to come and meet and talk and sit.  It provides a calm heart – a respite from the busyness of Sydney.  This cool space helps to deliver a microclimate enabling many of the residents to draw cool air through their dwellings.”

Waterfall has set a new benchmark for integrating the natural landscape into the urban setting. Only 5km from the Sydney CBD, the apartments combine nature, beauty and luxury with access to a cantilevered gym, rooftop infinity pool, 49-jet jacuzzi, outdoor cinema and music and function rooms.

Only a handful of apartments currently remain available for sale, with options from elegant studios to luxurious three-bedroom two-storey penthouses. Here at Crown Group, we specialise in luxury apartments, so find out more about Waterfall by Crown Group today!
