(Sydney, Australia) Friday December 4, 2015 – Dignitaries, past winners and guests from across the property industry have raised a glass to celebrate at the annual Property Person of the Year event in Sydney.
More than 350 guests gathered at Sydney’s Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf last night for Urban Taskforce Australia’s event in honour of the 2015 Property Person of the Year Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito.
Guests included Indonesia’s Ambassador to Australia Nadjib Riphat and his wife Nino, award-winning architect Koichi Takada, Urban Taskforce Australia CEO Chris Johnson, Urban Taskforce Australia Chairman Peter Daly, Net TV Indonesia Host Marisa Anita, Australian Financial Review Property Editor Robert Harley, CEO of Warrah Society Georgina Michaelis and renowned Cancer researcher at St Vincent’s Prostate Cancer Centre Associate Professor Philip Stricker.
Comedian Ben Price entertained guests and television personality Ben Fordham was MC on the evening.
Funds raised went to two very worthy Sydney charities; the Warrah Society & St Vincent’s Prostate Cancer Centre.
The youngest recipient in the history of the accolade, Iwan Sunito has made an impressive contribution to Australia’s property industry since co-founding Crown Group with business partner Paul Sathio in 1996.
Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito said the award was a celebration of Crown Group’s journey; from its first development in Bondi to an internationally-recognised global brand.
“I am immensely honoured to receive this award,” Iwan said.
“This award pays tribute to the efforts and hard work of our whole team and could not have been achieved without my business partner Paul Sathio.
“It is an acknowledgement of many years of commitment to innovative design and quality in everything we do. Our philosophy is not ‘bigger first then better’ but rather ‘better first and bigger will follow’.
“At Crown Group we are conscious that we are not simply building apartments but building a legacy for many people and this drives us to continually push the boundary of innovation,” he added.
Crown Group broke company sales records when it sold more than $380 million worth of apartments in one day at the launch of its latest landmark development in Green Square Infinity by Crown Group, on August 29.
The company’s major projects under construction include the 29-storey V by Crown Group in Parramatta, the 20-storey Skye by Crown Group in North Sydney, the popular inner-west development Oasis by Crown Group and a 25-storey residential tower Arc by Crown Group; in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
Born in Indonesia in 1966, Iwan spent his childhood in Central Kalimantan on the island of Borneo before he migrated to Australia to study architecture at UNSW.
With Iwan at the helm, Crown Group has grown to become one of Australia’s most prolific private development companies with a multi-million portfolio of projects under development and in the pipeline. Iwan represents a man who came from modest beginnings that has moved forward towards achieving outstanding success in the property world.
Crown Group has grown to become one of the leading developers of high end apartments in Sydney with a portfolio of projects worth more than $4.5 billion.
Urban Taskforce CEO, Chris Johnson said “Iwan has grown Crown Group in less than 20 years into one of Sydney’s major developers of upper end apartments.”
Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito is available for a limited number of interviews on request.
