FROM SELLING MILK TO LUXURY PROPERTIES: CROWN GROUP’S DIRECTOR OF SALES SHARES INSIGHTS ON SALES LEADERSHIP

(Sydney, Australia) Tuesday May 22, 2018 – “People, people, people!” This is how Roy Marcellus, Director of Direct Sales at Crown Group, would describe his leadership style. He believes one is only as good as the people who leads and aims to lead by example, selling alongside his team at Crown Group.

Mr. Marcellus began his sales career with Synovate Aztec in Sydney where he worked on, among other companies, Nestle’s beverage brands, including milk. After several years working on food and beverage brands for a few local firms, he made the dramatic switch to property sales.

Working with Iwan Sunito, Chairman and Group CEO of Crown Group, Mr. Marcellus was able to alter his leadership style over time to reflect the differences between food and beverage and property sales, as well as mature as a leader. “I have grown, matured and been able to introduce more balance into my leadership style,” shared Mr. Marcellus, “I learned from selling food and beverage brands, the ability to be able to speak with people from all walks of life – from CEO’s to cleaners.”

One of the biggest lessons he has learned over time is being present in both one’s job and with one’s family. He works hard to be present leading the sales department at Crown Group, while also being there for his family with a third baby on the way.

He has been involved in several of the company’s largest developments, including Top Ryde City Living, Infinity by Crown Group, Arc by Crown Group, Skye by Crown Group and Eastlakes Live by Crown Group. Mr. Marcellus was awarded Best Department Leader in 2017 internally and achieved record prices and results in his past property launches for the company. He made more than $380 million for Infinity by Crown Group, $230 million for Arc by Crown Group and $100 million for Skye by Crown Group – all in three hours respectively. Now, he is ready for Crown Group’s newest and most ambitious development to date, Eastlakes Live.

The $1 billion development is designed by Sydney-based architects Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (fjmt). Eastlakes Live by Crown Group is set to revitalize Sydney’s oldest shopping centre in Eastlakes, and its neighbourhood into a vibrant urban hub that blends the surrounding environment with the area’s rich cultural heritage. With over 500 high-end residences, carefully curated retailers, hand-picked restaurants and cafes, manicured parks and children’s playgrounds, Eastlakes Live is set to define the vision of future living in Sydney’s East and beyond.

“Eastlakes Live draws on the success of Crown Group’s multi-award-winning Top Ryde City Living development which successfully integrated 653 residential apartments within seven towers above a modern shopping centre,” said Mr. Marcellus.

“With Eastlake Golf Course in the southeast and the Eastlakes Reserve to the west, we’re creating a great place connecting people together where residents can live, shop and play all in the one place.”

“Eastlakes Live is set to be Sydney’s new east, revitalising the Eastlakes town centre and creating a new entertainment and lifestyle precinct for Sydney.”

Eastlakes Live by Crown Group aims to set a new standard for retail excellence with two major supermarkets with fresh food offerings reflecting the diversity of the neighbourhood, a restaurant promenade, street cafes, a medical centre, as well as densely-landscaped gardens and children’s play areas.

Stage one of Eastlakes Live will include 134 luxury apartments ranging from one-bedroom apartments to penthouses and 12 retail outlets below. Stage two will complete the new town centre with a mix of residential and retail components, with details still to come.

Sales for stage one will begin on Saturday 2nd June 2018 with expected construction completion in 2021. Crown Group is now accepting expressions of interest from prospective buyers.

The display centre is now open daily from 10am to 4pm, located at 19a Evans Avenue, Eastlakes.
