(Sydney, Australia) Wednesday June 29, 2016 – A leading Australian property developer has appointed a well-known hospitality manager to lead its luxury hotel brand.

After recently announcing its expansion into hotels with the launch of its hotel brand Skye Hotel Suites, Sydney-based developer Crown Group last week named Wayne Taranto as Director of Hotels and Suites.

The first Skye Hotel Suites will open in the thriving Sydney suburb of Parramatta in 2017.

Prior to his role at Crown Group, Mr Taranto held senior management roles with Amalgamated Holdings Limited (now Event Hospitality & Entertainment) and Accor Hotels and more recently was General Manager of Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.

Earlier this year the company appointed experienced hospitality marketer Irfan Zaki as Director of Sales and Marketing for Skye Hotel Suites. Mr Zaki’s experience spans two decades including roles at Accor Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels Group and Meriton Serviced Apartments.

Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito said Wayne and Irfan arrived at an exciting time for the company as it entered the hotel sector.

“Crown Group has a strong track record in Australia, developing award-winning residential projects across Sydney, earning a strong brand reputation over the past two decades,” Mr Sunito said.

“Our expertise stretches across a wide spectrum of the property industry in construction, site acquisition and residential sales.

“The launch of Skye Hotel Suites will bring the Crown Group’s high-end luxury living to travelers from around the world.

“It is an exciting time for Crown Group as we continue to expand both locally and across the region,” he said.

The second largest employment destination in the state, Parramatta was recently named the most livable suburb in NSW and is forecast to grow in population by 40 per cent by 2031.

Mr Taranto has 24 years’ experience in the hospitality and entertainment industry.

“The phenomenal growth of Western Sydney in recent times has stimulated enormous potential for hospitality providers in Parramatta,” Mr. Taranto said.

“The potential for the city is immense and we are excited to be part of this growth phase.

“Skye Hotel Suites will appeal to travellers looking for the best in luxury accommodation and facilities,” he said.

Crown Group has established a reputation for architecturally unique, resort-style residential development and has been recognized with a number of top industry awards including the UDIA NSW President’s award, Master Builders Association Excellence in Construction award, UDIA National High Density Development award and UDIA NSW award for Concept Design.

Skye Hotel Suites will open for advance bookings in early 2017.

A second Skye Hotel Suites is scheduled to open in Sydney’s CBD in early 2018.
