16 SEPTEMBER 2020 Crown Group will play host to an exciting new cultural event called Satay Day at Eastlakes Shopping Centre on Saturday 26 September from 10am to 3pm. The Indonesian pop-up kitchen is designed to celebrate the nation’s 75th year of independence.
Two of Australia’s leading Indonesian expats and business leaders, Crown Group CEOs Iwan Sunito and Paul Sathio, invite the public to their latest Sydney development, Eastlakes Live by Crown Group, for a day of fun cultural festivities and entertainment.
Guests of honour will include His Excellency the Ambassador of Indonesia Yohanes Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo, Consul General Heru Hartanto Subolo and Indonesia’s Tourism Minister Wishnutama Kusubandio.
There will be favourite take-away dishes such as Ayam Penyet, a famous fried chicken dish, Martabak Manis, a delicious type of stuffed pancake, and Sate Ayam, or classic chicken satay, from popular Sydney restaurants including Sawah, Ayam Penyet Ria and Bite Cave.
Visitors will celebrate Indonesian coffee culture with leading coffee brand Kapal Api.
Highlights of the event will be broadcast via global webinar, with a discussion between Indonesia’s global ambassadors, chefs and celebrities on the topic of Culinary Diplomacy.
Satay Day comes as Eastlakes Live by Crown Group heads towards an exciting milestone – the opening of new apartments and a new shopping centre mid next year, when the developer completes stage one of the $1 billion development.
Visitors on the day will enjoy a sneak peek of the exciting new residential and retail development that is set to transform Eastlakes into “the new east”.
Eastlakes Lives is one of the largest single residential developments being built in Sydney, spanning 2.4 hectares, and will soon offer nearly 500 apartments and up to 80 stores including a new “eat street” and two shopping centres.
Crown Group Chairman and Group CEO Iwan Sunito said Satay Day was designed to welcome honoured members of the Indonesian community, many of whom are dear family and friends. Director of Sales Prisca Edwards and Assistant Project Sales Director Andri Tjung will be on site to welcome guests.
“We are proud to celebrate this year, our 75th year of Indonesian Independence, by inviting in our dear friends and family to a special day of festivities and culinary celebration,” Mr Sunito said.
“We also take this moment to celebrate those Indonesian leaders and ambassadors who have made their mark in Australia and around the world, particularly in the culinary space. And what better way to celebrate that than by sharing satay with friends.”
His Excellency the Ambassador of Indonesia Mr. Yohanes Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo said, “We are thrilled to be a part of Satay Day at Eastlakes, which serves as a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate our rich culture and the connectivity of our cuisine.
“It is also an opportunity to celebrate the successes of great identities in the Indonesian community, in fields as varied as the culinary arts, acting, residential development and banking. I hope this inspires everyone in the Indonesian diaspora in their own lives.”
