FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 16, 2013 – Crown Group has taken home the state’s most sought after urban development prize.
Crown Group’s resort-style residential development Top Ryde City Living has been awarded the President’s Award – the most sought after prize in the urban development sector – by the Urban Development Institute of Australia NSW.
Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito accepted the award at The Annual UDIA President’s Luncheon held in Sydney on September 5.
Mr Sunito said it was an honour to receive the President’s award from UDIA NSW, the state’s leading property industry group.
The President’s award pitches the state’s best new developments against each other, from retail and commercial developments to master-planned residential communities in Sydney’s outer suburbs.
“The UDIA President’s award is highly-coveted in the property development industry and we are honoured Crown’s Top Ryde City Living has been named this year’s winner,” Mr Sunito said.
“It is a testament to the meticulous attention to detail at Top Ryde City Living from the design phase and development phases through to development and after sales service.”
Mr Sunito went on to say the award recognised Crown’s success and growth from a relatively-small $28 million project 17 years ago to a development pipeline worth $3 Billion today, achieved without compromising the company’s principle of good design.
“These awards are proof growth, quality and design excellence do not have to compete with one another, they can exist together,” Mr Sunito said.
The recipient of the competitive UDIA NSW President’s award was selected from the UDIA NSW Austral Bricks Awards for Excellence winners 2013 presented in July.
UDIA NSW President Simon Basheer said Top Ryde City Living by Crown Group is the best-of-the-best in current NSW urban development projects – and while it was difficult to select a winner from the 14 outstanding projects, Top Ryde City Living proved exceptional.
“Located above a shopping centre, Top Ryde City Living presents the ideal model for urban consolidation – a model that is often aspired to but rarely achieved,” Mr Basheer said.
“Crown also overcame significant logistical challenges to create quality apartments and facilities for than 1000 people above a fully-functioning shopping centre.
“The end result is a rare model of a typology that comfortably serves a growing Sydney.”
Positioned on one of Sydney’s most spectacular vantage points above Top Ryde City Shopping Centre, Top Ryde City Living features expansive common facilities including a music room, library, media theatres, indoor and outdoor function areas, a children’s playground and a pool.
“Top Ryde City Living was designed to take maximum advantage of the available space and views – and to utilize natural light and cross-ventilation in each apartment,” Crown Group CEO Mr Sunito said.
Crown Group’s other award-winning developments include a joint venture with Prosha Pty Ltd, The Eastlakes Town Centre, awarded UDIA NSW best Concept Design 2013, the innovative, waterfront development Sanctum by Crown, awarded a Master Builders Association Excellence in Housing award 2012 and the hugely-successful ICON at Homebush, awarded HIA (Housing Industry Association) CSR Housing Awards 2007 Apartment Project of the Year.
