(Sydney, Australia) Friday October 04, 2016 – A stylish new development in Western Sydney is set to become the latest addition to Parramatta’s growing night-time economy.
Parramatta will soon reap the rewards of a boost to its after-hours economy when a host of new venues open to the public next year; including three evening-trading restaurants and a bar at V by Crown Group on Macquarie Street.
Joining the already announced Burger Project from celebrity restaurateur Neil Perry, two new dining outlets; The Shed café and Shakudo Japanese restaurant will open on the ground-level of V by Crown Group early next year.
A stunning level-26 cocktail bar with sweeping views of Sydney’s CBD and Sydney Harbour Bridge is set to be Parramatta’s highest bar when it opens next year.
Recent announcement comes just weeks after it was revealed short-film festival Tropfest will move to Parramatta in 2017, adding to more than 30 events hosted at the Parramatta Park each year.
Parramatta attracted an average of 1.5 million visitors per year in the three years to 2012, a number expected to jump as Western Sydney’s population increases by a forecasted 1 million people by 2031.
Recently awarded an international architecture award for its modern design, V by Crown Group will include 590 apartments and hotel suites, and resort-style residents’ amenities including a swimming pool, gymnasium and library.
The new restaurants and bars will be closely followed the opening of Skye Hotel Suites within the luxury V by Crown Group development in mid-2017.
The development’s ground-floor retail area will feature free WIFI for the general public available before and after 5pm and a unique archaeological display visible from ground level 24-hours a day.
Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito said Australia was witnessing Parramatta emerge as true city of the future.
“Parramatta is already attracting the best and brightest executives during the day and V by Crown Group will help entice a record number of visitors contributing significantly to the city’s night-time economy next year,” Mr Sunito said.
“Done well, Parramatta’s night-time venues will be a drawcard for domestic and international tourism, and
provide many opportunities for economic growth and benefit.
“V by Crown Group will inject new life into Parramatta’s nighttime economy,” he added.
Hundreds of residents are set to move into V by Crown Group in 2017.
Administrator of City of Parramatta Amanda Chadwick said it was an exciting time for Parramatta, with the city experiencing unprecedented growth as it fulfills its role as Sydney’s dual CBD.
“Parramatta is a vibrant and diverse city that offers a wide range of experiences for locals and visitors alike. Council is very happy to see continuing growth in the number of quality food offerings in our city, which serves to confirm and reinforce Parramatta’s reputation as a true food and events destination,” Ms Chadwick said.
Crown Group National Development Director Pierre Abrahamse said V by Crown Group’s dining and retail precinct would become a new meeting place in Parramatta.
“Parramatta’s new bars and restaurants are grabbing the attention of Sydney’s after-five crowd, but no other bar will match the views on offer at V by Crown Group’s bar on level 26 opening in 2017,” Mr Abrahamse said.
“V by Crown Group’s ground-floor dining and retail precinct will be a popular new meeting place in Parramatta; home to three new food and beverage outlets set to open after 5pm; attracting style seekers, foodies and art aficionados after hours.
“More and more students, executives and families are moving close to the city centre and looking for a place to relax and unwind in a modern setting,” he added.
Outside the city centre, a new 18 000-capacity outdoor venue opening until 11pm, The Crescent recently opened after $6-million in government investment.
The three restaurants at V by Crown Group are set to open in Autumn 2017, with the level-26 bar to open later in the year.
