THE PRIME MINISTER AND GENESIS  

The Honourable John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia and Member for Bennelong officially opened Crown Lyon Joint Venture’s newest residential development ‘Genesis’, located on the corners of Rawson Street & Beecroft Road, Epping on April 7^th 2004.

Held in the Presidential Suite at the Epping Club, Epping, the evening was graced by a distinguished crowd. As well as the Prime Minister, other guests included Mr John Brogden NSW Liberal Leader, His Excellency Mr Hertomo Reksodiputro Indonesian Consul, Ms Patricia Forsythe MP, Mr Chris Hartcher MP, Bruce Lyon from Bruce Lyon Real Estate, as well as other illustrious members of Sydney local councils and further prominent business identities.

Formal proceedings began early, Iwan Sunito, Director of Crown International Holdings presented a humorous, enthusiastic speech praising the efforts of all those who had been involved in the development so far and for the long hours and hard work they had completed. In addition to the speech, Iwan impressed the audience with a visual slide presentation, to allow people to see first hand what Crown Lyon Joint Venture’s vision is for the site.  He thanked the Prime Minister for the privilege of his attendance to the opening, and for his utmost support for the residential property development industry. Joint director of Crown Lyon Joint Venture, Mr Bruce Lyon then spoke to the eager crowd with authority - something that only someone with over fifty years experience in real estate can do, about how rewarding it is to be involved in developing a site with practicality and finesse, and how it will bring Epping’s infrastructure and asthetics up to speed in the new millennium.  

Proudly the Prime Minister opened his speech stating, “Nothing happens, as part of my constituency, in Epping without me knowing”, re-enforcing the rationale as to why it was so important to have The Prime Minister present.  He then continued, “Congratulations to Bruce Lyon and Crown on their commitment to a remarkable new development that combines the modern and elegant features of good living in Australia in 2004, with a keen regard to the amenity of Epping locality. A nice mixture of residential and commercial suites and offices. The fact that the project of this scale can be put together speaks volumes of the experience of both the parties of the Joint Venture. This development is a sign of confidence to the local economy. It will blend well into the community.” As the Prime Minister revealed the plaque to commemorate the opening, he cited, “I congratulate Crown and I congratulate Bruce Lyon and all associated with the Genesis project. I am sure it will be successful. In declaring it open by unveiling this plaque, I know it will add considerably to the amenity of the locality and make a positive contribution to the future of Epping.”  The crowd heartily applauded the Prime Minister, his presence overwhelming a few in attendance. 

Guests mingled with the Prime Minister for well over two hours, enjoying a selection of canapés and drinks catered by the Epping Club. The night was an astounding success and provided invaluable recognition to the Crown Lyon Joint Venture and their developments. The Joint Venture is a company created between Crown International Holdings and Bruce Lyon Real Estate. to design and develop a new residential and commercial premises for the residents and visitors of Epping.
